Jack Gleeson to make his return to television acting

Gleeson brilliantly played Joffrey Baratheon in HBO’s Game of Thrones.

The early seasons of Game of Thrones made for some of the best television we’ve ever seen.

The writing was immaculate, the plot was beautifully detailed and the acting was top class.

One of the stand out actors in the show was Irishman Jack Gleeson, who played the sadistic Joffrey Baratheon until he met his demise in the fourth season.

Gleeson received unanimous praise for his performance in the show, leading many to expect huge things in the world of movies and TV from the young actor.

But since he stopped working on the show, Gleeson has remained out of the spotlight for the most part. Aside from a few stage roles, he has done very little in the world of acting.

But the 27-year-old Cork-born man is now making a return to television acting, in a six-part BBC Two series Out of Her Mind.

The show will star Sara Pascoe, as well as Riviera’s Juliet Stevenson, The Split’s Fiona Button, Doctor Foster’s Navin Chowdhry, Peep Show’s Cariad Lloyd and rapper Scroobius Pip.

Gleeson had previously said: “When you make a living from something, it changes your relationship with it. It’s not like I hate it, it’s just not what I want to do.”

The series will be distributed by Sony Pictures Television and BBC has said that a release date for the show will be confirmed in due course.
