Jack Reynor lands the lead role in a mysterious new American TV show
Big start to 2018 for the young Wicklow actor.
Jack Reynor will be the leading man on Strange Angel, a somewhat mysterious-sounding new TV series that counts Ridley Scott among its executive producers.
Variety reports that Reynor, 25, will take on the role of real-life rocket scientist Jack Parsons; a "brilliant and ambitious blue collar worker" in 1930's Los Angeles who falls into a strange sex-fuelled world as he develops his considerable talents.
Parsons was a devoted follower of English occult icon Aleister Crowley, and used his teachings of self-actualisation to support his genuinely fantastic career path.
Pete's Dragon director David Lowery will helm the pilot of the CBS All Access show, which is a co-production of that network and Scott Free Productions.
There's no word of a premiere date for Strange Angel just yet, but 2018 already looks like a big year for the Sing Street star, who will also appear in Andy Serkis' Mowgli, set for release this October.
