Finally, some answers.

For a long time, speculation has been wild around the James Bond franchise.

Mainly, of course, focusing on who will take Daniel Craig’s place and portray the next 007.

The big theory for a long time was that we would see our first ever female James Bond.

Rumours were fuelled when it was disclosed that actress Lashana Lynch will be playing a female 00 agent after Daniel Craig’s Bond leaves active service in the new movie.

And now, we finally have a bit of insight.

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has said that the next person to play the spy will be male.

Broccoli told Variety:

“He can be of any colour, but he is male. I believe we should be creating new characters for women – strong female characters.

“I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that,” she added.

So now we can enjoy speculating who we think the next James Bond is. The main contenders thus far have been Idris Elba, Richard Madden, Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy.

No Time To Die is set to be released in cinemas on 2 April.
