Jason Statham is hyping up The Meg aka ‘The Greatest Film Of All Time’ being a franchise

The Meg sequels

Jason Statham vs even more 75-foot sharks. YES!

We’re supremely confident in saying that watching The Meg for the first time will be like the very first time that you heard The Beatles. In fact, to hell with it, we’re saying that The Meg is going to be greater than all of these things combined; Jesus, Chuck Norris, Chewbacca, chocolate and everything in between.

Why? Well, it’s got Jason Statham playing an expert deep-sea rescue diver that starts beefing with a 75-foot shark. Clearly, the Oscar race for 2019 is already over.

As stated previously,  the budget for this movie is $150,000,000 and the trailer is just an appetiser for what’s to come.

The movie is based on a 1997 book (yes, seriously) titled Meg: A Novel Of Deep Terror, which is the first of eight novels about the giant killer shark. EIGHT FILMS FEATURING GIGANTIC SHARKS!

If you’re looking for the spiritual sequel to Deep Blue Sea, we’ve got it.

In an interview with EW, Jason Statham has already been floating the idea of even more films in The Meg franchise.

“I think it’s like anything in this day and age — if it makes money, there’s obviously an appetite to make more money. And if it doesn’t do well, they’ll soon sweep it under the carpet. But that’s the way Hollywood works. Everyone tries to make a good film, and it lies in the hands of the audience. People are the ultimate decider; the audience is the decider of whether anything gets to be a sequel or not,” said Statham.

Truth be told, we would watch 1,734 films of Jason Statham wrestling a shark. If there’s a good in heaven, we’ll see ‘The Stath’ laying the smackdown on The Meg.

There you have it, bring everyone you know to see The Meg and live happily ever after.

August 10th can’t come soon enough.
