Jenna Ortega is clearly a fan of Barry Keoghan and the work the Irish actor has brought to the big screen in recent years. That much was evident when she was asked about an upcoming project she has with the Oscar-nominated Dubliner.
Ortega, who is currently on our cinema screens in Scream VI, was speaking with JOE's Rory Cashin about the horror flick when he enquired about the, as yet, untitled project with Keoghan. The piece will star music star 'The Weeknd' (Abel Tesfaye) in an acting role and is being directed by Trey Edward Shults.
"We haven't shot any scenes together yet, " Ortega said, "but we have met a couple of times."
"I'm very, very excited and honoured to work with him. He has been one of my favourites for a while.
"I think that was almost part of the allure of the project, within the project itself, seeing his name attached and have that interest in it, himself, and all that he brings to a project."
According to Deadline, who first broke the story, director of photography Chayse Irvin ('God's Creatures' and 'Blonde') and composer Daniel Lopatin ('Uncut Gems'), is scoring the film alongside The Weeknd. The Canadian had a cameo in Adam Sandler's 'Uncut Gems' and appeared in HBO's 'The Idol'.
