Having stumbled upon a simple concept mixed with incredible execution back in 2014, the John Wick franchise isn't about to change its approach too much any time soon.
Frankly, it doesn't really need to. Three films down, Keanu Reeves' seemingly un-killable hitman is yet again on the run from an endless array of charismatic, multi-skilled killers in the next chapter, which, curiously enough, appears to simply be titled 'John Wick'.
We'll refer to it as John Wick 4 for now just to avoid any further confusion. Anyways, you know the drill here – stunning action sequences, a brooding Keanu, a cast of colourful supporting villains, inventive violence and lots and lots and lots of headshots.
Speaking of inventive violence, there's a bit here where Big John just repeatedly leathers a guy in the head with a pair of nunchucks. You also get a glimpse of Bill Skarsgård, who would appear to be playing the main antagonist.
Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown and Ian McShane are all confirmed in the secondary cast.
Not much is known about the specific plot at this stage beyond the obvious but the emphasis seems to be very much on a 'Surely he can't survive this time!' onslaught. In any event, it looks tremendous and we can't wait to see it when John Wick 4 crashes into cinemas at the end of March 2023.
