“We are the motherfucking children of Fatima.”
A killer soundtrack, firm hold hair mousse and snarky nuns – this week’s episode of Derry Girls had it all.
Featuring apparitions of “Big M”, the girls (and boy) spent this week posing holily for The Derry Journal prior to an alleged trip to Vatican.
Until Erin’s feelings for sexy Father Peter proved too much, that is.
Before all this, however, was a 90s reference that was deemed the absolute best in the series thus far.
When brought in front of Father Peter, Michelle chats with the cleric about who God may or may not think is a dick.
And who came up? Only wee Pat Sharp.
Pat Sharp – haven’t thought about him in years! Brilliant #DerryGirls

This is of course in reference to Patrick “Pat” Sharp, the English radio and television presenter, DJ and general nineties heart-throb. Sharp is known mainly for his work on the children’s television programme Fun House and his spectacular former mullet.
And on further inspection, aye, Pat Sharp’s definitely a dick.
This came second only to Erin’s mum forcing people to swear on the goddess that is Dolly Parton. Naturally.
