On a slightly related note, he also revealed who should replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the MCU.
Fans of Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Zack & Miri Make A Porno, Mallrats and more should be very happy to hear the director, writer, actor, and all-round movie lover Kevin Smith is bringing the live-recording of podcast tour to Dublin.
Smith and his Hollywood Babble-On co-presenter Ralph Garman made the announcement (kind of) via Twitter:
DUBLIN! BIRMINGHAM! EDINBURGH! MANCHESTER! LONDON! In MAY, @RalphGarman & I will BABBLE your brains out! Tickets on sale Thursday: https://t.co/yAk0lodaaF pic.twitter.com/fjo7gAytxB

Now, the more perceptive of you out there might have noticed that particular announcement didn’t seem to mention Dublin dates at any point, but a follow up statement revealed that Dublin is most definitely on the agenda.
The duo will be hitting up Vicar Street on Thursday 9 May, with tickets going on sale at 10am on Thursday 7 February.
Meanwhile, during the recording of one of his other podcasts – titled Fatman Beyond – Smith discussed with that show’s co-host Marc Bernadin about the downside of the two confirmed Mission: Impossible sequels… the fact that Cruise won’t be able to join the MCU any time soon.
Bernadin suggested that Cruise would make a “really good Stryker for when they reboot the X-Men over at Marvel” – Stryker was initially played by Brian Cox in X-2 – but Smith had other, bigger ideas:
“No, fuck that, make him Wolverine. Tom Cruise as Wolverine makes a billion dollars.”
Considering the fact that Mission: Impossible 8 is set to be released on 5 August 2022, almost exactly a month after Tom Cruise turns sixty years old, it seems unlikely that Disney and Marvel would then sign him up to play Logan.
Still though, it was a nice thought…
