Kieran Culkin Succession finale

“It’s really hard to find time.”

Kieran Culkin has shockingly admitted that he still hasn’t seen the devastating final episode of Succession.

In an interview on the red carpet, before he swept up the award for Lead Actor in a Drama Series, the star explained that a string of scenarios after filming the ending of the HBO series led to him not having time to watch the finale.

Despite him saying he could “vaguely recall” what goes on in the thrilling finale, Culkin said that he saw a clip of a “really important” scene from it during the week that he had completely forgot about.

The finale of Succession ended an incredible four seasons of the show which swept up multiple awards this January, including Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series as well as Culkin, Sarah Snook and Matthew MacFadyen all picking up individual awards for their roles.

Speaking on the red carpet, Culkin admitted to Variety that he still hadn’t seen the finale, but had some pretty good reasons as to why.

“It was a thing – I had to go work in Poland right as it was gonna air and I couldn’t sign into my HBO Max account,” he said in the interview.

In response to the interviewer asking if he could have just called someone from HBO to send him the episode, he said: “I probably could have, but I was also shooting and then I went from that to a month-long vacation and at that point it was three months old.

“I was there, I shot it, so I vaguely recall. Although I saw a clip of a scene yesterday and I was laughing because I was like ‘oh, that’s funny, I forgot about that scene. And it was a big scene.”

The interviewer responded by saying, “That’s hilarious. You’re not full of ego where you’re like ‘I need to see my work?'”

Culkin replied, “No I felt like I needed to – to do press – and I was trying to see it before this, but I never found time.

“I got two young kids, it’s really hard to find time.”

Someone please give that man a free 88 minutes to sit down and watch the finale of the show he’s winning all the awards for.
