Our TV movie pick for tonight (Thursday, 17 October) is Kill List, the utterly terrifying 2011 British thriller from co-writer and director Ben Wheatley (Down Terrace, Free Fire, High-Rise).
The film centres around a solider-turned hitman named Jay (Neil Maskell, Hijack) still reeling from a disastrous mission abroad.
Because his family are financially broke, his wife Shel (MyAnna Buring, The Descent) urges him to accept a job with his assassin friend, Gal (Michael Smiley, Bad Sisters).
Their shadowy client has a list of three people he wants killed.
But as Jay and Gal carry out the assignment, they discover there is more to the mission than meets the eye - sending the killers "into the heart of darkness".
Kill List begins as a gripping, slow-burn crime thriller before gradually descending into a full-on folk horror freak-out.
The thriller's dark mysterious story, intense performances and shocker ending combine to create a movie with an almost pervasively evil mood.
The film has acquired a devoted fanbase since its release, with many considering it one of the best movies of the 21st century.
Kill List is airing on TV tonight on Film4 at 11.35pm. It is also currently streaming on Prime Video.

Breathe - BBC Two - 11.05pm
Andrew Garfield stars in this 2017 biographical drama as a man who became paralysed from the neck down by polio at the age of 28.
Tales from the Lodge – Legend Xtra – 11.05pm
A 2019 British horror comedy anthology.
While She Was Out - Legend - 11.40pm
Oscar-winner Kim Basinger stars in this thriller as a suburban housewife forced to fend for herself when she becomes stranded in a desolate forest with four murderous thugs.
