Bank Holiday Monday Movie Mix.

Hello. You’re possibly feeling a bit low on energy after the weekend. Luckily, you can watch a bunch of movies to take the edge off.

Here’s the most interesting options available on TV for YOU on this Bank Holiday Monday, 6 June…

Goodbye Christopher Robin – Film4 – 6.45pm

Domhnall Gleeson leads the way in this sensitive biopic of prolific playwright and author A.A. Milne, ultimately best known for creating Winnie-the-Pooh.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again – ITV2 – 6.45pm

The second one, which contains at least one outrageous Pierce Brosnan performance.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park – Sky Showcase – 8pm

The second one, which contains at least one terrifically suspenseful sequence.

When a Stranger Calls – Horror Channel – 9pm

Somewhat anachronistic even by the time it arrived in 2006, this remake of a horror film in which a landline telephone played a crucial part is fairly by-the-numbers but you’ve probably seen worse.

Lethal Weapon – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

The first one.

Knives Out – Film4 – 9pm

Our main pick for you this evening.

Daniel Craig’s archly-drawn detective does his utmost to solve a murder mystery in Rian Johnson’s smash hit crime caper that has already led to commission of not one, but two sequels set to drop on Netflix in the future.

Craig is backed up by a hell of a cast here, with Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Christopher Plummer and Lakeith Stanfield all vying for attention.

Cold Pursuit – RTÉ One – 9.30pm

Liam Neeson stars in this tonally all over the place remake of a Scandinavian dark comedy thriller in which a man seeks vengeance following the murder of his son.

The Silence of the Lambs – TG4 – 10.15pm

Hello, Clarice.

Bad Boys – ITV4 – 11pm

The first adventure for detectives Lowrey and Burnett.

The Exorcist: The Version You’ve Never Seen – Turner Classic Movies – 11.20pm

This version came out in 2000. Chances are you’ve seen it by now.

Brothers in Arms – Film4 – 11.40pm

Violent action thriller with Jai ‘was in the worst Die Hard film’ Courtney.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II – Horror Channel – 12.35am

The messy – both in terms of narrative and gore – sequel to a horror classic.
