Kristen Wiig has officially been snapped up as a villain in the next Wonder Woman movie
You wouldn't think it, but she would make a great villain.
The DC Extended Universe has never exactly been the most rewarding cinematic adaptation of any graphic novel series.
It has never shown much in the way of a sense of humour, and when it did... well, we've all seen Suicide Squad.
One of the few big glimmers of hope however was Wonder Woman, which we've had a hard time not raving about since it first landed. In fact, Gal Gadot's done a pretty solid job of keeping the universe together single-handed, so a sequel was definitely called for.
The news only gets better though, as director Patty Jenkins has confirmed that Kristen Wiig, one of the brightest stars in comedy is coming on board as the next big bad, Cheetah, one of Wonder Woman's fiercest enemies.
So excited to confirm the most thrilling news. Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can't wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned. #Cheetah!!! @GalGadot pic.twitter.com/Gn0jICiIAH

Wiig, who gained widespread fame for Bridesmaids and on Saturday Night Live, is officially the second cast-member to be confirmed as the film begins pre-production.
The film is expected to be released on 1 November 2019, having been moved forward a month to avoid competition from the ninth Star Wars episode.
