We imagine this will be getting A LOT of Oscar discussions when it gets released in cinemas this year.
Let us take a quick look at Lady Gaga’s last two acting gigs.
2015 – appeared in American Horror Story: Hotel, and ended up winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Limited Series.
2018 – appeared in A Star Is Born, won the Oscar for Best Original Song (‘Shallow’), and was nominated for Best Actress.
So whatever Gaga decided to act in next, the bar was already set pretty high.
Thankfully, her radar is as spot-on as always, as she’ll be appearing in Gucci, the upcoming based-on-a-true-story thriller from four-time Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott.
And with the film in production now, Gaga shared the first images on her social platforms:

The official synopsis is as follows:
“The story of how Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), plotted to kill her husband, the grandson of renown fashion designer Guccio Gucci (Al Pacino).”
The film also stars Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci and Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, with Ridley Scott already deep into the production in Italy, despite it feeling like only yesterday he was directing Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in The Last Duel in Ireland.
Gucci is currently set to arrive in cinemas in November this year (just one month after The Last Duel is set to arrive), which is prime placement for potential Oscar attention.
