Deep down, we all love a good Christmas movie.
And even deeper down, we all love a good romantic comedy.
So it stands to reason that a Christmas-themed romantic comedy will check all of the boxes, and Last Christmas is going to check every single box imaginable.
Queen Of Dragons herself Emilia Clarke in full-on rom-com cynic mode? Check.
The legendary Emma Thompson in over-protective mother mode (and also writing the screenplay for the movie?) Check.
Using the music of George Michael (hence the title)? Check.
The love-interest is the guy everyone fell in love with during Crazy Rich Asians? Check.
And from the director of Bridesmaids? CHECK.
The trailer alone has plenty of fantastic laughs, but it also looks like it is setting us up for some big weepie moments too, and it wouldn't be a Christmas movie if it didn't make us both laugh AND cry.
We actually spoke to Emma Thompson about Emilia Clarke in this movie, and she had nothing but incredibly nice things to say about her. Check out that chat right here.
In the meantime, sorry Love Actually, but it looks like you've been replaced...
