You'd never guess who it was in a million years.
Since
Patrick Kielty took over the reigns as host of
The Late Late Show,
RTÉ has been notably more secretive about which guests will be appearing on the programme in the run-up to Friday evenings.
As such, it is surprising that the broadcaster has taken the move of unveiling the name of one of the talk show's guests for its upcoming episode.
Much more surprising though is who that person actually is.
RTÉ News has confirmed that Belgian martial arts expert and action movie legend
Jean-Claude Van Damme will be in conversation with Kielty.
Best known for his starring turns in the '80s and '90s films Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Universal Soldier, Hard Target, Timecop, Street Fighter and Sudden Death - Van Damme is in Ireland this week as he is launching his own brand of Irish whiskey Old Oak.

The action icon's appearance on the Late Late was teased on the talk show's Instagram account, which posted a spoof karate training video starring Kielty.
You can watch that clip right here:
As for the Van Damme-featuring Late Late episode itself, it starts at Friday, 9.35pm on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
Here's to hoping The Muscles from Brussels will break out a few super flying karate kicks.
