Leonardo DiCaprio is set to undertake his deadliest role yet. DiCaprio is teaming up with his old pal Martin Scorsese to play serial killer Dr. HH Holmes in the movie adaptation of the Erik Larsen book ‘The Devil in The White City’.

DiCaprio’s murderous character was suspected of having killed anywhere from 20 to 200 people in late-nineteenth century Chicago while the city hosted the 1893 World’s Fair.

Interestingly, that’s about as many people as DiCaprio is likely to go through if he’s once more overlooked by the Academy.

DiCaprio has been nominated for the prestigious Best Actor Award on four occasions, and twice under the direction of Scorsese (for The Wolf of Wall Street and The Aviator).

It’s a formula that has taken the universally-adored actor close to Oscar glory in the past…

The script will be written by Leo’s fellow Academy Award-nominee Billy Ray, who came close to winning the Best Adapted Screenplay award for Captain Phillips.
