Mother of God, this is good news.

For the past number of years, we’ve all been a little bit obsessed with catching ‘bent coppers’ thanks to Line of Duty.

The show really is a good one, with fascinating characters, bizarre plot twists and amazing catchphrases to beat the band (check out Ted Hastings’ best moments here).

So we are naturally buzzing for the release of the sixth season of the BBC drama, and by the looks of things, we won’t have all that long to wait.

Despite Season 5 only finishing up in May, it looks like work has already begun on the sixth season.

Show creator Jed Mercurio took to his Twitter page to share an image of himself and the three main cast members (Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure and Martin Compston) as they awaited the arrival of “secret guest stars”.

Interesting…

Mercurio recently told Radio Times that he “hopes” the sixth season airs sometime in 2020, but that he was unable to confirm whether or not that would be the case.

Meanwhile, Vicky McClure also took to social media to show she had reunited with the cast.
