#TRAILERCHEST: Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen are the ultimate odd couple in Long Shot

“This is Pretty Woman. Except she is Richard Gere, and you are Julia Roberts.”

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Long Shot.

Plot’s it all about?

It seems like the plot of a hundred million rom-coms that have come before.

Boy meets girl. They’re from two different worlds. They overcome their differences, thanks to the help of some kooky best friends, and fall desperately in love.

Here, Charlize Theron is a Presidential candidate, and Seth Rogen is a schlubby journalist.

She used to be his babysitter decades earlier, and they accidentally cross paths at a party one night, and sparks begin to fly. But can their love survive the gaze of the public eye?

These two stars don’t seem like the kind of actors who would be attracted to a nice, run-of-the-mill, formulaic rom-com, which is why if you dig a little deeper, you find that it is directed by the guy behind the genuinely great 50/50, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, and The Night Before.

Plus, the script is written by the minds behind Spielberg’s newspaper drama The Post, as well as episodes of South Park, King Of The Hill, and Girls.

So just the right mix of smart and raunchy that we would want from a rom-com with Theron and Rogen. Bring it on!

Starring: Seth Rogen, Charlize Theron, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Andy Serkis, June Diane Raphael, Bob Odenkirk and Alexander Skarsgård.

Directed by: Jonathan Levine
