Looks like Nadine Coyle is set to star in the next series of Derry Girls

JOE

Derry Girls

It makes sense…

When you think of Derry you think of a few very specific things – one of those very specific things being Nadine Coyle’s passport and, by extension, Nadine Coyle.

The singer revealed on Wednesday that she’s set for a role in the next series of the sitcom, which has proved a huge hit for Channel 4.

Nadine told the Irish Daily Star that she’s going to speak to the show’s creator, Lisa McGee, about getting her written into the series.

She said:

“Yes I’m going to speak to the writer about that.

“I’m going to call Lisa today actually, we’re sorting something out for the next series.”

There you have it. It’s on.

The Girls Aloud star added that the school in Derry Girls is actually based on her own school, so she’s got a good few fairly specific memories about the place.

“It’s based on the same school I went to, the same Catholic school, so we have loads of similar experiences,” she said.

This comes after it was revealed that actress Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare in the show, studied Nadine’s accent via YouTube in order to prepare for her own role in the series.

We’re assuming she simply watched this iconic clip over and over again, to be honest.
