A lot of people thought the same thing about Davy Fitzgerald’s appearance on Living with Lucy

There was a lot of love...

The softer side of Davy…

When the only time we see someone is either moments before, during, or after a game, then it’s easy to get a distorted view of their personality.

We’ve become accustomed to seeing Davy Fitzgerald on match day, just as he’s becoming more and more agitated about the game ahead of him and refusing to give the opposition an inch mentally.

To him it’s a psychological battle as much as anything else and the above interview is classic Davy.

But obviously, no man or woman can live their everyday life with that much intensity and on Living with Lucy on Tuesday night, we got a glimpse of the Davy Fitzgerald behind all the shenanigans.

In his (very impressive) home down in Sixmilebridge, we came across a passionate Davy who will do anything to win, which of course we already knew. But it’s only because it means so much to him, and off the pitch he’s just like any other mad sports fan; he loves winning and takes losing very hard.

One moment in particular stood out in our minds; when Davy spoke about winning the All-Ireland with Clare. He said it was just an unbelievable feeling that he’ll never forget, but said, “I wonder could I feel like that once more, that’s what keeps you going.”

His honesty in the show won around a lot of viewers and there was a decisively positive response to the episode from the people at home watching.

Also, just incase anyone watching was wondering, Bomber is single and on Tinder. Keep an eye out…
