Just before Series Five starts shooting, it seems that there will be a sixth series of the hit show before it signs off for good.

Next Tuesday, if you are out and about on the streets of Dublin, you might see some very familiar faces. Nidge, Fran and the rest begin shooting Series Five of gangster drama Love/Hate next week but the good news for fans of the show is that there are already plans for more.

In today’s Irish Independent, they quote an industry source on the future of the show.

“There were rumours that season five was going to be 12 episodes, but that’s not the case it’s six, with a proper climax that Love/Hate fans are used to and enjoy,” an industry source said.

“The plan is to finish the Love/Hate journey next year, with another series after this one.”

One of the big gripes many viewers had at the end of Series Four was the slightly underwhelming ending. The promise of a ‘proper climax’ means that we shouldn’t encounter that problem again and rumours persist that a major character will be bumped off at the end of Series Five.

We will have to wait until the Autumn to see the end results though.
