She plays a big role in the new season…

Have you heard? Peaky Blinders is making a return to our screens on November 15, but of course, being a staunch Peaky Blinders fan, you already knew all of this.

More and more information about the latest season of Peaky Blinders continues to trickle into our lives, and to say we’re looking forward to it would be a dramatic understatement.

A new character in the series you can look forward to getting to grips with is going to look familiar to a lot of Irish people.

We’re of course, talking about the casting of Charlie Murphy as feminist Jessie Eden in the new series of the show. Irish viewers will recognise Murphy from her portrayal of Siobhan in RTÉ’s crime drama Love/Hate.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, she spoke about mastering the Brummie accent and also made some comments on the new season.

“At the audition I’d never tackled the Brummie accent before,” Murphy said. “It’s such a brilliant accent but very daunting to approach.

“I watched the first few episodes and then I was just hooked.”

When asked what it was like joining a cast which contains the like of Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy, the Love/Hate actress said: “Scary, exciting, you kind of get used to the first day of school every few months, but (here) you are not starting with everyone and the dynamic is set.

“It seems like a beast of a show from the outside and it’s stunning.

“It was a bit nerve-racking starting and the anticipation was more than anything. I was fine when I got there.”
