Before he stunned audiences with his incredible turn as high school chemistry teacher turned drug lord Walter White on Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston had another equally iconic role.
That was as Hal, the loving if inept dad to a couple of unruly sons in the hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, which ran from 2000 to 2006.
After all, who can forget such comedy gold as Hal fighting a bee with his car or his foray into the world of racewalking or this clip of him being startled by a balloon?
In the years since Malcolm in the Middle, Cranston has shown off his more serious dramatic acting chops thanks to his role in Breaking Bad, as well as his parts in the likes of Argo, Drive, Godzilla and Trumbo.
However, according to Frankie Muniz - who played the titular Malcolm in Malcolm in the Middle - Cranston is working on a script for a reboot of the sitcom.
In an interview with Fox News, Muniz teased the possibility of a revival of the series, stating:
"When I was filming the show, I obviously was a kid. We did seven seasons, 151 episodes. I didn’t really watch the show when it was on, but I’ve now since watched the show with my wife.
"We [watched] all 151 episodes. I realized, ‘Wow, that’s what we were making.' I can separate myself from being on it and watching it as a fan, I would love to know what the family’s up to."
"I know Bryan Cranston is really into the idea and he’s kind of heading writing the script and getting everything rolling.
"So, there might be something. I would be down 100 percent but I don’t know, we’ll see what happens.
In the meantime, you can enjoy a great compilation of Hal's best moments below.
