Star Wars goes grim and gritty…
Despite meeting an extremely messy end in Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal is on the record as saying that the show changed his life.
Since then, he’s gone on to star in the likes of Narcos, Triple Frontier and The Equalizer 2, plus you could argue that he got out of GoT at just the right time, given the show’s downturn in quality from season five onwards.
So it’s all worked out pretty well for the Chilean actor, and now his biggest TV role to date looks to propel him even further into the stratosphere.
Or, to outer space.
There’s been a lot of talk about The Mandalorian, one of the key original launch titles for the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.
And now, finally, we have our first proper look at the thing.
Initial impressions? It’s all a bit ominous and there’s plenty of action. And you have the likes of Carl ‘Apollo Creed’ Weathers and infamously weird director and sometime actor Werner Herzog popping up.
As he says, bounty hunting is a complicated profession.
The soundtrack sounds decent, too. So yeah, this one has potential.
Interestingly, Pascal doesn’t remove his Boba Fett-style helmet at any point.
Are they going full Dredd here? We’ll find out when The Mandalorian lands on Disney+ on 12 November.
