Rory Cashin

New stuff from Steven Spielberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sandra Bullock, Jason Statham and loads more!

Not sure what to watch in the cinema?

Not sure what to watch at home?

Need some direction in your precious viewing times?

That is exactly what you’ll find in the latest episode of The Big Reviewski, which can be watched in full below, or you can skip to the cinema reviews (4:42), home entertainment recommendations (12:58), and classic re-watches (19:54).

Here are the new cinema releases, which will all be available on the big screens around Ireland from Friday 10 December…

CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG

Based on the much-loved children’s books, Clifford is basically a magic dog that grows in size depending on how much you love him.

When a young girl becomes his new owner, he grows to absolutely huge proportions! Comedic chaos ensues!

DON’T LOOK UP

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Ron Perlman, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep star in this comedy about the end of the world.

The cast alone makes it a must-watch. In select cinemas this week, it will arrive on Netflix on Christmas Eve.

WEST SIDE STORY

Steven Spielberg remakes the classic romantic musical, with Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler as two lovers who find themselves on either side of rival gangs in 1950s New York City.

And now on to the stuff you can watch at home this week, starting with…

AND JUST LIKE THAT

Three quarters of the Sex and the City quarter are back, telling the story of Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte still living their best lives in and around Manhattan.

The first two episode of And Just Like That are available to watch on NOW, with the rest of the series arriving weekly.

LANDSCAPERS

An incredibly dark comedy based on a true story, starring Olivia Colman and David Thewlis as a happy couple living in France who must return to the UK to face the consequences of a crime they committed 15 years earlier.

All episodes available to watch on NOW right now.

THE UNFORGIVABLE

Sandra Bullock plays a woman recently released from prison following a particularly horrific crime, returning to a home town that definitely doesn’t want her back.

The Unforgivable is available to watch on Netflix.

WRATH OF MAN

Jason Statham and director Guy Ritchie reunite after Snatch (we’re pretending Revolver doesn’t exist) for this action-thriller about a new employee at an armoured cash van company who may have taken the job under false pretences.

Wrath Of Man is available to watch on Prime Video this weekend.

And finally, the amazingly exciting Pizza And A Movie section, with Rory and Eoghan each picking a movie for you to enjoy at home this weekend, and putting it to a public vote to decide which is the better pick…

Here are this week’s picks, with the vote once again going up on JOE’s Instagram channel, so keep an eye out on that to have your say!

Rory’s Pick – ELF

Will Ferrell is a human who thinks he’s one of Santa’s elves. That’s all you need to know about this absolute Christmas cracker!

Elf is available to watch on NOW.

Eoghan’s Pick – HARRY POTTER & THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE

To celebrate the fact that all eight of the Harry Potter movies are finally available to stream at home again this week, why not go back and check out the very first (and arguably most Christmassy?) entry.

Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone (as well as all of the other Harry Potter movies) are available to watch on NOW.

Clips via Netflix, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Studios, HBO Max, Prime Video & Warner Bros.
