Michael Bay’s huge new action thriller and 7 more big trailers you might have missed this week

The Rock, Beyonce, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Mescal, Jamie Dornan and the writer of The Social Network all have new stuff to show off this week!

It has been a big week for trailers already, with first looks at video game adaptation Uncharted, as well as the final season of Netflix's hit dark drama Ozark. But there are plenty more new trailers and teasers to enjoy this week too, starting with... RED NOTICE Netflix is going all out with its most expensive movie ever made, teaming up a world class agent (The Rock) with a world class thief (Ryan Reynolds) in order to take down an even-more-world class thief (Gal Gadot). The action looks big and ridiculous, the one-liners are pithy and charming, and everyone is looking great and sexy. Bring it on. Red Notice will arrive on Netflix on 12 November. Clip via Netflix COWBOY BEBOP This live-action adaptation of the hit Japanese animated show is certainly bringing the visual flare of the original show along for the ride. The space Western sees three bounty hunters - Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) - team up to take down the galaxy's most dangerous criminals. Looks like a lot of fun to us. All ten episodes of Cowboy Bebop is set to arrive on Netflix on 19 November. Clip via Netflix KING RICHARD Will Smith is already a Best Actor Oscar frontrunner based solely of the trailer for this biopic of the father of Venus and Serena Williams. This latest trailer also happens to feature the track 'Be Alive', the brand new song by none other than Beyonce herself. King Richard is set to arrive in Irish cinemas on 19 November. Aaron Sorkin, the writer of The Social Network, The West Wing and Moneyball, writes and directs this story of Lucille Ball (played here by Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem), both better known as the stars of the hit 1950s sit-com I Love Lucy. Expect a lot of Oscar talk around this one, too. Being The Ricardos will arrive on Prime Video on 21 December. Maggie Gyllenhaal makes her director debut with this dark psychological drama, centring around a woman (Olivia Colman) on holiday, who is forced to look into her own dark past following a meeting with a stranger (Dakota Johnson). Co-starring Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard and Ed Harris, it looks to be a difficult but important watch. The Lost Daughter will arrive on Netflix on 31 December. Awards season is well and truly upon us, as we get another glimpse at this Shakespeare adaptation fronted by Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. Adapted and directed by one half of The Coen Brothers, this stark and moody take on the classic tale looks nothing short of absolutely stunning. The Tragedy Of Macbeth will arrive on Apple TV+ on 14 January, 2022. Michael Bay has taken a break from making Transformers movies, but that isn't stopping him from blowing everything up in Los Angeles, usually around sunset. This time he's doing a big budget remake of a hit Danish thriller, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya-Abdul Mateen II as a pair of bank robbers who use an ambulance as their getaway vehicle, complete with a pair of kidnap victims on board. Ambulance is set to arrive in Irish cinemas on 18 February, 2022. And last but not least, the Best Picture Oscar could be making its way to Ireland. Kenneth Branagh's semi-autobiographical tale of growing up in Belfast has been the buzz of festivals around the world, and the initial Irish release date of November has been pushed back a few months, to right smack in the middle of prime awards season. Jamie Dornan, Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench and Ciaran Hinds could all potentially be up for some big award wins for their roles in this powerful drama. Belfast is set to arrive in Irish cinemas on 25 February, 2022.
