We are shocked by this, Stephen Rea. Shocked, we tells ya!
It was a fantastically Irish talent-heavy episode of The Big Reviewski this week, with Barry Keoghan on to chat about his new movie American Animals, as well as living legend Stephen Rea, and you can check out the full show right here:
We've already mentioned how Stephen Rea had compared his new movie Black 47 to Michael Collins, but when we talked a bit more about the Liam Neeson-starring classic, we were curious to hear what the wrap party on that movie must've been like, and that is when Rea dropped a bit of a bombshell:
"Oh, I don't think I was at it. Actors don't go to wrap parties!"
We here at JOE were kind of shocked to hear that - you'd imagine a big party with all of your co-stars would be a big highlight of making a big budget movie - but Rea reveals that usually these parties aren't actually for the actors at all:
"No, the wrap party is usually for the technicians and all the people who have been working every single day on the movie for three months or whatever it is. Actors are usually wrapped and at home by then."
Black 47 writer/director Lance Daly weighs in too, backing up Rea's statement that the actors don't really attend them:
"That's true, the actors are usually just in for a few days and then it leave the rest of us to pick up the pieces and tidy away the costumes!"
Black 47 is in Irish cinemas right now, check out the trailer below:
