EXCLUSIVE: Michael Douglas talks Avengers 4 and hanging out in Dublin with Jack Nicholson

Rory Cashin

The two legends were invited by Bono to stay in his hotel before it had even opened.

Pretty much everyone’s back for Ant-Man And The Wasp, with the movie taking place after the events of Civil War, but alongside the epic finger-click of Infinity War.

This means that Michael Douglas has returned for the sequel, reprising his role as Doctor Hank Pym, father of Evangeline Lilly’s character, who are now both on the run from the government thanks to Paul Rudd’s actions in Captain America: Civil War, while also trying to find a way to get to the subatomic field to find his long-lost wife.

Douglas is obviously a bit of a living legend, and he is clearly a big fan of Paul Rudd, car chases and the MCU, but we also chatted about his time in Ireland – specifically the time he and Jack Nicholson were invited by Bono to stay in his hotel (which we accidentally called The Clarendon, sorry Bono!).

Oh, did we mention this happened before the hotel was even open to the public? And then they went off on a bit of a golfing tour around the country?

Does that not sound like the greatest trip of all time? Even non-golf fans would want to be invited to that!

We also had to ask about Avengers 4, obviously…

We were also lucky enough to chat to Ant-Man & The Wasp themselves – Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly – as well as the movie’s director Peyton Reed. The full interviews will be up on JOE.ie and The Big Reviewski soon, while the movie hits Irish cinemas on Friday 3 July.
