The next two films are shaping up.

Pom Klementieff, aka Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, has officially signed on the dotted line to join the increasingly brilliant Mission: Impossible franchise.

Writer and director Christopher McQuarrie – who will helm the next two films in the series back-to-back – confirmed the news via Twitter on Tuesday evening.

If the man is to be taken at his word, Klementieff will portray a “femme fatale” figure.

McQuarrie’s tweet would appear to indicate that the 33-year-old actress will appear in both the seventh and eighth instalment of the hugely successful franchise.

Klementieff joins the recently-cast Hayley Atwell – also of Marvel Cinematic Universe fame – as brand new characters in the M:I world.

The next two films are set for release on 23 July, 2021 and 5 August, 2022, respectively.

Plot details have yet to be revealed but you can pretty much guarantee a death-defying stunt or two courtesy of Tom Cruise.
