“Game over, man.”
It’s Tuesday and if you’re staying in tonight, you’ll probably need some entertainment options.
Well, Disney+ has just added 11 big movies for grown-ups to enjoy to its service.
However, if you want more choice, here’s what is on the telly on 12 April.
Aliens – ITV4 – 9pm
Having survived a close encounter with the alien creature from the first movie, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is recruited to help a group of highly trained colonial marines fight off more of the horrifying extraterrestrials.
With James Cameron replacing Ridley Scott in the director’s chair, this follow-up retains the original’s contained claustrophobic horror while upping the action, further developing the character of Ripley and of course, adding more aliens.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol – Comedy Central – 9pm
The one with the incredible sequence at the Burj Khalifa (aka the world’s tallest building!) in Dubai.
I Am Legend – Sky Showcase – 9pm
Will Smith is the last human in New York in this solid post-apocalyptic action thriller.
Unfaithful – Film4 – 9pm
King of the erotic thriller Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction) helms this film about a New York suburban couple’s marriage that goes dangerously awry when the wife indulges in an adulterous fling.
Richard Gere and Diane Lane star.
Kill Bill: Vol 1 – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
The first part of filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s excellent martial arts epic.
The Romantic Englishwoman – Great! Movies Classic – 9pm
Michael Caine plays one of the leads in this ’70s romantic drama from acclaimed director Joseph Losey (The Servant).
Gothika – Horror Channel – 9pm
Halle Berry and Robert Downey Jr. star in this critically-panned supernatural horror.
Hellbound: Hellraiser II – Horror Channel – 10.55pm
Another sequel in a legendary horror franchise.
Deep Blue Sea – Turner Classic Movies – 11.20pm
It’s not Jaws by any stretch, but this silly-yet-entertaining sci-fi horror is one of the better shark-centred films.
Unsane – Film4 – 11.25pm
This gripping psychological horror starring Claire Foy (The Crown) is notable for being shot in entirely on an iPhone.
Every Time We Say Goodbye – Great! Movies Classic – 11.25pm
Tom Hanks is the lead in this ’80s romantic drama about a World War II pilot and a Jewish girl who fall in love in Jerusalem.
Galaxy Quest – ITV4 – 12.50am
Sigourney Weaver stars again in this cult sci-fi comedy.
