It’s a brand new week…

… which means plenty of films to check out on the telly.

If there was ever an excuse to break out those Christmas pyjamas you got as a present two years ago, it would be to settle in and watch a movie.

Here are our top picks of what to watch on your screens this Monday.

Central Intelligence – Film4 – 6.55pm

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is joined by Kevin “The Pebble” Hart in this action comedy about the CIA.

V For Vendetta – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Adapted from the graphic novel, this film is why Anonymous wear those Guy Fawkes masks.

There Will Be Blood – TG4 – 9.30pm

Our top pick is a tour de force of acting from Ireland’s own Daniel Day-Lewis.

Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, The Master), Day-Lewis stars as an oil baron during the South California oil boom of the late 19th century.

The film won multiple Oscars, including a Best Actor win for Day-Lewis. An absolutely brilliant film.

Bad Teacher – E! Entertainment – 10pm

Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel star in this very 2010’s romantic comedy.

The Chronicles of Riddick – ITV4 – 11pm

Vin Diesel’s sci-fi passion project about a badass anti hero. You should probably just play the game of the same name on Xbox.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 – Turner Classic Movies – 11.45pm

The first part of Tarantino’s ultra-violent revenge story.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
