It was nominated for eight Oscars when it first released.

St Patrick’s Day week has finally begun.

We can feel the excitement in the air already.

Every tricolor has been bought, all the green face paint is gone, and you’re mentally preparing to hear the same three songs played by marching bands at the parades.

If you’re already organised, you should treat yourself to a relaxed night in watching a film.

And if not, forget about it for a while, and catch something you haven’t seen before.

Here’s JOE’s top picks for the movies on television this Monday (14 March).

The Lost Boys – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

A brilliant horror comedy directed by a young Joel Schumacher, before going on to direct Veronica Guerin, Falling Down, and… uh… Batman and Robin.

Last Orders – Film4 – 9pm

A who’s-who of British stars appear in this lovely drama about a group of friends who reconnect to spread the ashes of a loved one.

Phantom Thread – TG4 – 9.30pm

Daniel Day Lewis’ final film, and it’s a doozy.

Death Wish 2 – ITV4 – 10pm

The second one.

Speed Kills – SyFy – 11pm

John Travolta stars in this terrible, terrible crime drama.

Interview With The Vampire – Turner Classic Movies – 11pm

Being a vampire sucks.

The Ritual – Film4 – 11.25pm

Note to self – don’t go on a hiking trip in Sweden.

The Social Network – Great! Movies – 11.45pm

Our top pick for this evening is easily one of the best films of the past 20 years.

Telling the story of how Facebook came to be, David Fincher directs this Zuckerberg biopic full of drama, deceit, and maybe just a bit of poking.

Career defining performances from Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield make this a must watch if you haven’t seen it yet.
