Two weeks into September already? Seriously?
If you feel like the month is absolutely flying by, you probably want to sit down and take a breather.
And what better way to relax than with a great film on your TV screen?
Here's JOE's top picks for the best films on your television this Wednesday (14 September).
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Film4 - 9pm
The second installment in the series gets a lot of flak, but at least it's far more fun than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Cell - Horror Channel - 9pm
John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson star in this terrible adaptation of a Stephen King story.
The Man from UNCLE - Turner Classic Movies - 9pm
The Henry Cavill version of the classic 1960s spy drama.
Dashing Through The Snow - Great! Movies Christmas - 10pm
I regret to inform you that there are already Christmas movies being shown on television. It's not even Halloween yet, lads.
Ned Kelly - Great! Movies - 10.50pm
A young Heath Ledger stars as the eponymous Irish/Australian outlaw, who became an icon centuries after his death.
Sicario - Film4 - 11.20pm
Our top pick for tonight is a thrilling action ride with a right bastard of an antagonist.
Emily Blunt stars as an FBI agent tasked with taking down a major drug cartel in Mexico, headed up by Benicio del Toro.
The film is full of fantastic performances, including del Toro's and Josh Brolin's.
Couple that with the fact that the film is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner: 2049, Dune), and you have a recipe for major success.
Shocking, brutal, and full of twists and turns; if you're a fan of the genre, this is one not to miss.
Searching - Film4 - 1.40am
John Cho searches for his missing daughter in a film staged entirely within computer screens and smartphones.
Based on true events, this tense thriller puts a unique twist on a classic sub-genre. No Ordinary Heist, a new Irish crime thriller inspired by actual events, is available to watch in cinemas from this weekend. The movie follows two bank workers, manager Richard Murray (Eddie Marsan) and security guard Barry McKenna (Saipan’s Éanna Hardwicke), […]
