Movies on TV 27 June

An absolute powerhouse of a performer.

To paraphrase a certain gig in Marlay Park tonight, we hope you’ve had a Hella Mega start to the week.

But staying in to watch a film? That’s The Good Life right there.

Sugar, We’re Going Down the list of movies that are available on the small screen and judging which ones are worth a watch.

It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right. We hope you have the time of your life on the couch.

Here’s JOE’s top picks for movies on TV this Monday (27 June).

Bad Boys II – Sky Showcase – 9pm

“You ain’t seen Bad Boys II?”

Glass – Film4 – 9pm

Avengers: Endgame for M. Night Shyamalan fans.

Unforgiven – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Cowboys, Ted, they’re a bunch of cowboys.

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason – RTÉ2 – 9pm

The second one.

The Drop – Great! Movies – 9pm

Our top pick is a great film, but with a great tinge of sadness.

This mafia drama marks the final performance of legendary actor James Gandolfini, and he, as always, delivers.

Tom Hardy (Inception) and Noomi Rapace (The Girl in the Dragon Tattoo) star alongside the Sopranos star, with critics and fans alike praising their performances.

Well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it already, and you can use this as an excuse to rewatch The Sopranos too.

Tomorrow Never Dies – ITV4 – 9pm

Brosnan’s second outing as 007.

Tigerland – TG4 – 9.30pm

Colin Farrell stars in this Joel Schumacher film set in the Vietnam War.

Enemy of the State – ITV4 – 11.25pm

A pretty good thriller full of conspiracy, action, and our own Gabriel Byrne as well.

Mother! – Film4 – 11.35pm

An absolute mind-melt of a film. Don’t go into this thinking that it’s your standard drama affair.

Ocean’s Thirteen – Turner Classic Movies – 11.45pm

Contrary to popular belief, not the thirteenth Ocean’s film.
