“I’ll see you cats on the flip flop later.”

Hey, you made it through the first month of 2022.

You should treat yourself.

And there’s nothing better than tucking in and watching a great movie on TV.

Here’s JOE’s top picks for the best films on the small screen tonight.

Lilies of the Field – BBC Two – 3.30pm

The late, great, Sidney Poitier won an Oscar for his role in this comedy drama.

50 First Dates – Channel 5 – 4.05pm

This Adam Sandler romcom is far better than it has any right to be.

Bruce Almighty – ITV2 – 4.45pm

Worth it for the “I’ve Got The Power” montage alone.

Raiders of the Lost Ark – E4 – 6.45pm

The original (and the best).

School of Rock – ITV2 – 6.50pm

Our top pick for tonight is another legendary Jack Black comedy.

Whenever comedy and music come together in film, you can always rely on Jack Black to put in a winning performance.

Immensely quotable, great comedy and a killer soundtrack, including a song that they literally begged Led Zeppelin to be able to use.

Whether you’ve never seen it or you’ve watched it 100 times, it’s always worth your while.

The Inbetweeners Movie – E4 – 9pm

The reason why your mates were doing that one chicken wing dance at every disco in 2011.

The Longest Yard – Comedy Central – 9pm

Another part of the ASCU (Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe).

Widows – Film4 – 9pm

Viola Davis leads a group of Chicago woman to pull off a daring heist in this Steve McQueen directed thriller.

Rush – BBC One – 11.30pm

Before Drive To Survive, this was what brought new fans into the fast-paced world of Formula One.

Weekend At Bernies – Virgin Media One – 11.50pm

A film that has somehow re-entered the national conversation for bizarre reasons…

Big Game – Channel 4 – 12.10am

Samuel L Jackson is the President. What more could you want?

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
