“What kind of lunatic are you?” “The best kind!”

June is over already, somehow.

The weekend is ever so close, and if you were at any of the Marlay Park gigs this week, you’re probably looking to recover before you go back at it again.

So curl yourself up on the couch and grab some microwave popcorn, there’s movies to be watching.

Here’s JOE’s top picks for the films on your telly this Thursday (30 June).

Casablanca – BBC Four – 9pm

“We’ll always have Paris.”

Paranormal Activity – Horror Channel – 9pm

A staple of sleepover viewing in the 2000’s.

The Cold Light of Day – Great! Movies – 9pm

This could possibly be Henry Cavill’s worst film.

Sudden Death – ITV4 – 9pm

Our top pick for tonight is a bonkers action film from the team behind TimeCop.

Jean Claude Van Damme, once again, stars as the titular hero, saving the Vice-President during the Stanley Cup finals.

Van Damme on ice fighting terrorists. What more could you ask for?

Out For Justice – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

This Seagal revenge flick was heavily cut when it first released due to the violent content.

Crypto – Great! Movies Action – 9pm

Kurt Russell stars in this action thriller about money laundering and cryptocurrency.

The Inbetweeners 2 – 4Music – 9pm

The Inbe2weeners, more like.

Joan of Arc – BBC Four – 10.40pm

The 1948 multi-Oscar winning version starring Ingrid Bergman as the French heroine.

Hellraiser – Horror Channel – 10.45pm

The first of 10(!) films about the very scary, very sexy Cenobites.

The Da Vinci Code – Great! Movies – 10.50pm

Leonardo Da Vinci was up to something, and Tom Hanks is gonna figure it out.

Equilibrium – Turner Classic Movies – 10.55pm

Who called it “gun kata” and not “Gun-g Fu”?

Taken 2 – Channel 5 – 11pm

“Taken to where”? – Your da, probably.

Death Race – ITV4 – 11.15pm

Jason Statham drives fast.

Lapsis – Film4 – 11.30pm

The gig economy, but not as we know it.

The Butterfly Effect – Great! Movies – 1.40am

Worth a watch if it’s the director’s cut with one of the strangest endings in film.
