Das Boot – Turner Classic Movies – 11pm
This German WWII drama set on a submarine is widely considered as being one of the best war films of all time.
World War Z – Film4 – 11.15pm
Our pick for tonight, Brad Pitt stars in this big-budget adaptation of Max Brooks’ hit novel playing a former UN field agent called back to duty to investigate a zombie pandemic.
Probably the biggest entry ever in the horror sub-genre, World War Z benefits from a charismatic lead turn and some pulse-pounding action set pieces.
The Maze Runner – Channel 4 – 11.30pm
The first entry in the young adult sci-fi film series.
Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool – RTÉ One – 11.50pm
In this acclaimed biographical drama, a romance sparks between a young actor (Jamie Bell) and a Hollywood leading lady (Annette Bening) in ’70s Liverpool.
I, Daniel Blake – RTÉ2 – 11.50pm
