Movies on TV Sunday 3 November

Yes, it’s Sunday.

Rest up.

Watch some movies.

Here’s how it looks on this Sunday 3 November…

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – ITV – 5.20pm

The fifth adventure for the titular boy wizard.

Space Jam – ITV2 – 5.55pm

Michael Jordan recruits iconic cartoon characters for a perilous basketball game.

The Ward – SyFy – 9pm

Latter-day John Carpenter horror effort that finds Amber Heard trapped in a haunted psychiatric hospital.

Vertigo – TCM – 10pm

Recently voted the greatest movie of all time by the British Film Institute, Alfred Hitchcock’s noir classic is a fine choice for a Sunday night couch engagement.

Eraser – ITV4 – 11pm

A film in which Arnold Schwarzenegger shoots an alligator in the face.

Attack the Block – Film 4 – 12.15am

A superb, witty, inventive and oddly affecting ‘kids versus aliens’ twist that made a star of John Boyega and really should be on at 10pm or something but hey, stay up for it.

Rush – Channel 4 – 1am

Speaking of deserving a better late night slot, Rush rounds out today’s picks.

If you’ve never seen it, at least set record. Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl are both brilliant as rival Formula 1 drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda, while director Ron Howard walks away with one of his best pictures.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
