The early days of John Cena: Movie Star as the WWE hero brings hustle, loyalty and respect to this madcap action film that was very clearly inspired by Saw.

Aidan Gillen plays the villain with relish, as ever.

The Last Boy Scout – ITV4 – 11.10pm

Quentin Tarantino reckons that down-on-his-luck private eye Joe Hallenback is the second best character that Bruce Willis has ever played. The man has a good argument.

Dead Man’s Shoes – Film 4 – 11.20pm

Much-loved thriller as Paddy Considine sets out to gain revenge for his brother.

Out For Justice – TCM – 11.30pm

Steven Seagal does his thing.

The Master – Film 4 – 1.05am

Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams are all excellent in this challenging and lengthy drama about an alcoholic who falls in with a cult.
