You’ll either love it or hate it.

If you’re looking for a quiet night in this evening then luckily there are plenty of great movies on TV to choose from.

Our pick of the bunch is one of the most divisive sci-fi films of the 90’s – Total Recall.

Directed by Paul Verhoeven, the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a bored construction worker in the year 2084, who receives false memories of being a secret agent on the colonised Mars, and must stop the tyrannical regime of the Martian dictator.

Total Recall has been a hugely polarising film among critics for decades, with some criticising its gratuitous violence, style of humour and confusing narrative.

However in recent years, retrospective reviews have credited it as one of the best sci-fi films ever made, with many praising Schwarzenegger’s performance, the film’s incredible visuals and its sheer entertainment from start to finish.

The movie even inspired a remake in 2012 starring our very own Colin Farrell, but the less said about that the better, to be perfectly honest.

If you’re looking for blood, sex and violence then you’re in for a treat with Total Recall, which airs on ITV4 tonight at 10pm.

If you’re looking for something else, here are some more movies on TV tonight.
