On the search for something to watch this Tuesday evening?

Well, Amazon Prime Video has just added 51 big movies to its library.

Netflix has also added over 30 movies to its platform.

If for some reason, however, none of these suit you, here is the movies on TV situation tonight (Tuesday 5 July).

Hanna – Sky Showcase – 9pm

Our pick for tonight centres on a teenage girl (Saoirse Ronan) that was raised by her father (Eric Bana) to be the perfect assassin.

Sent on a mission across Europe, she is tracked by a ruthless intelligence agent (Cate Blanchett) and her operatives.

With its young protagonist, well-deployed fairy tale motifs, inventive action set-pieces and a slick Chemical Brothers soundtrack, Hanna is a very entertaining spin on the Bourne-esque spy thriller.

The Lost Boys – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

An ’80s classic in which young vampires with great hair terrorise a small Californian town.

US Marshals – ITV4 – 9pm

Tommy Lee Jones reprises the character he won an Oscar playing in The Fugitive for this mediocre spin-off.

Stage Mother – Film4 – 9pm

This 2020 comedy-drama centres on a conservative church choir director (Oscar-nominee Jacki Weaver) who inherits her late son’s San Francisco drag club.

It Came from the Desert – Horror Channel – 9pm

Revellers partying in the desert encounter giant ants in this monster flick inspired by the ’80s video game of the same name.

Speed Kills – Syfy – 10pm

John Travolta stars in this 0% Rotten Tomatoes-rated, not sci-fi movie as a wealthy speedboat racer leading a double life.

War of the Worlds – Film4 – 10.50pm

Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise adapt H.G. Wells’ legendary sci-fi novel.

Pet – Horror Channel – 10.50pm

In this twisty horror, a woman (Ksenia Solo) is abducted by a stalker (Lost’s Dominic Monaghan) and held captive underneath an animal shelter where her captor works.

Man of Steel – Turner Classic Movies – 11pm

The beginning of the DC Extended Universe.
