Our pick for tonight is this 2019 documentary focusing on the 1969 Apollo 11 mission, the first spaceflight from which men walked on the Moon.
Notable for its lack of feature narration or interviews and for consisting solely of archival footage – including 70mm film previously unreleased to the public – Apollo 11 earned a near-perfect 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising it for its “awe-inspiring” imagery.

A man tries to uncover an unconventional psychologist’s therapy techniques on his institutionalised wife, amidst a series of brutal murders.
Directed by horror legend David Cronenberg (The Fly, Videodrome), this 1979 film has gone on to become a cult favourite thanks to its nightmarish imagery and its deeper themes regarding marriage and parenthood.
Veronica Guerin – TG4 – 9.30pm
Cate Blanchett is Irish journalist Veronica Guerin in this early 2000s biopic.
Alien – ITV4 – 11.10pm
One of the most iconic horrors and sci-fis of all time.
Police Academy – Turner Classic Movies – 11.40pm
The first of seven entries in the cop-comedy series.
