A thrilling sports biopic is among the movies on TV tonight

It focuses on the rivalry between two Formula One drivers.

We are once again at that midpoint in the week where the weekend feels so near but yet so far.

That said, you can help the time pass by more quickly by checking out a good movie.

In keeping with that, here are the films airing on TV tonight.

The Equalizer 2 – Film4 – 9pm

Denzel Washington returns in this sequel to the hit movie reboot of the classic 80’s crime show.

The Condemned – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones star in this violent action flick about ten convicts forced to fight each other to the death as part of an illegal game that is being broadcast to the public.

Xtro – Horror Xtra – 9pm

In this ’80s British sci-fi horror, a father who was abducted by aliens returns to his family three years later,

The Terminator – ITV4 – 10pm

The first in the franchise where Arnie is the baddie.

The Prince and Me – Comedy Central Extra – 10pm

In this rom-com, an American college student (Julia Stiles) falls for a Danish prince (Luke Mably) who goes to her college.

Open 24 Hours – Horror Xtra – 10.45pm

In this 2018 American horror, a woman with a dark past gets a job at an all-night gas station.

Sleepless – Film4 – 11.20pm

In this solid crime thriller taking place over the course of one night, Jamie Foxx plays a cop with a connection to the criminal underworld who must rescue his kidnapped son.

Lethal Weapon – Turner Classic Movies – 11.25pm

Danny Glover and Mel Gibson star in this much-loved buddy cop flick that launched a franchise.

Rush – BBC One – 11.40pm

Last but not least is our pick for tonight – a biographical sports drama focusing on the ’70s rivalry between Formula One drivers James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl).

Released in 2013 to box office success and rave reviews, Rush is elevated by its two captivating lead performances, its exhilarating racing sequences and its emotional and well-told story.
