QUESTION: Which film scene scared the crap out of you as a child?

Rory Cashin

It didn’t even take a horror movie to freak us out.

With the arrival of brilliant horror movie A Quiet Place in cinemas this week – and we were lucky enough to chat to both Emily Blunt and John Krasinski about the movie – we’ve been thinking a lot about scary movies lately.

So the folks on JOE and Her’s film show The Big Reviewski got to talk about the film scenes that freaked them out as a child, and still does to this day.

The answers kick off at the 5:25 mark and ends around 9:30 in the link below:

Rory went for the first attack in Watership Down, in which a weirdly hulking bunny gets outrageously violent against another bunny, and pretty much chews his ears clean off. This was a kids movie?

Paul had to go for the transformation scene from The Witches, in which we first get our look at Angelina Huston’s actual form, peeling off her face to reveal the long noised creature below.

And finally, Eoghan went with a scene from Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade. When everyone finally finds the room full of cups, and in a movie – not to mention a series – full of incredibly scary scenes including melting faces and violent deaths, Eoghan was creeped out by the old knight. It was simply the process of ageing that seemed to freak him out…

So tell us, what movie scene completely freaked you out as a child, and probably still does to this day?
