In one of the most surprising casting choices since Robert Pattinson was chosen to be the new Batman, it looks Neil Patrick Harris is set to become part of the Matrix franchise.
A return to the Matrix franchise has been hotly anticipated, and even more so since it became clear that stars of the original Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss would be reprising their roles. Co-creator of the movies Lana Wachowski will also be writing and directing the as yet untitled fourth instalment.
There's no word yet as to whether Harris will be playing a goodie or a baddie, but we can pretty much already hear him saying "Have you met Neo?"
The 46-year-old is also a pretty well-established Broadway star, so maybe we can expect the next Matrix film to be the first musical in the franchise.
Another big name who's joining the franchise is Yahya Abdul-Mateen, who many will remember from his appearance in the opening seen of Us.
Production on the film is set to begin some time in 2020, according to the report in Variety.
