Six others were also injured in the crash.
Two actors who are set to feature in a brand new show on Netflix have died in a car accident in Mexico.
Raymundo Garduno Cruz and Juan Francisco Gonzalez Aguilar are the names of the actors who were killed in the crash on Thursday. The actors were filming The Chosen One, which is an adaptation of the comic book series by Mark Millar and Peter Gross.
The accident was confirmed by the Baja California Department of Culture on Friday. The department said the van that the crew members were riding in crashed and flipped after it ran off the desert road near Mulegé on the Baja California Sur peninsula.
Six other cast and crew members were also injured in the crash.
“We’re sad to confirm that two cast members have passed away after a tragic accident in transit from Santa Rosalía to the local airport,” Netflix said.
“Two other cast members and four crew members were injured but remain stable. Investigations are ongoing on the reasons for the accident, and production was paused for a few days out of respect for the victims.
“Our thoughts are with them and their family at this time.”
A release date for The Chosen One has so far not been released. The description for the programme reads: “A 12-year-old boy learns he’s the returned Jesus Christ, destined to save humankind. Based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and Peter Gross.”
