Alice through the very distorted looking glass.
Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Cam.
Plot’s it all about?
Social networking, technology and sexual politics anxiety gets ramped up to 11 in the latest effort from horror factory Blumhouse, responsible for the likes of Get Out and Upgrade.
The neon-soaked Cam focuses on Alice, a young woman who relies on a webcam service for work.
Finding herself suddenly locked out of her account, she investigates the problem only to find a digital clone has taken over and intends to make her life a living hell.
Cam was written by Isa Mazzei, who drew on her own experiences as a former camgirl for the story.
Indeed, the AV Club was one such publication to hail the film’s progressive approach, calling it “a feminist update on David Lynch and Brian De Palma by way of Unfriended.”
Starring: Madeline Brewer, Patch Darragh, Melora Walters
Directed by: Daniel Goldhaber
Irish release date: Friday 16 November on Netflix
