Netflix reveals all of May’s new movies and series

New arrivals include an Ireland-set mystery series, a Benedict Cumberbatch-led crime show and a new gangster drama from one of the people behind Gomorrah.

Another month has passed, meaning it’s that time when Netflix reveals all of its original films and TV shows coming in the next month.

Jerry Seinfeld directs, co-writes and stars in this new film, which tells the story of the cutthroat and breakneck race to invent the Pop-Tart.

The Final: Attack on Wembley – May 8

Mother of the Bride – May 9

Adagio – May 13

After a 16-year-old in Rome becomes embroiled in illegal matters far beyond him, he turns for protection to two former criminals – old acquaintances of his father.

Adagio is the latest project from director Stefano Sollima (Gomorrah, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, ZeroZeroZero).

An adaptation of the novel of the same name by Tom Wolfe (The Bonfire of the Vanities, The Right Stuff), the show sees Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, The Newsroom) play Charlie Croker, a real estate mogul in Atlanta facing sudden bankruptcy.

As his political and business interests collide amid the crisis, Charlie seeks to defend his empire from those attempting to capitalise off of his fall from grace.

Created by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing), A Man in Full also stars Diane Lane (Unfaithful) and Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels) and is already drawing comparisons to Succession.
