13 Reasons Why

The show caused some controversy.

Since the show dropped at the end of March, 13 Reasons Why has never been far away from the headlines.

The controversial show follows the story of Hannah Baker, who dies by suicide, and leaves behind a series of tapes outlining the reasons behind her death.

Some experts have argued that the show glorifies suicide and the graphic depictions of rape and self-harm could act as a trigger for vulnerable viewers. Netflix responded by introducing added trigger warnings at the beginning of episodes.

It was revealed over the weekend that a second season of the series is in the works.

The show is incredibly popular, for both positive and negative reasons, and people are intrigued to see what the second season will have in store for the characters.

Netflix have now revealed some of the details of what we can expect in season two, whenever it arrives. In a Facebook post, the streaming service wrote:

  1. We’ll see other perspectives on Hannah’s story
  2. Jessica’s story will continue as she tries to recover and return to a normal life
  3. There will be a narrator, but it won’t be Hannah – No more tapes
  4. The season will explore “the way we raise boys up into men, and the way we treat girls and women in our culture – and what we could do better in both cases”
  5. Bryce will hopefully get what’s coming to him.
