Netflix delves into modern day mafia with their incredible new series Suburra

Paul Moore

The next Narcos? Hell yes!

At present, we’re sure that all of you are binging on Season 3 of Narcos as our beloved DEA Agent Peña tackles the Cali Cartel and the rise of a criminal empire. If you’re still getting up to speed then we won’t say anything apart from the fact that at the end of the first episode, you’ll know not to mess with Pacho Herrera!

Given the addictive nature of the show, it’s very likely you’ll be finished with it in no time, but if you’re looking for you next fix of true crime, we have just the thing for you.

Given the fact that the Mafia and the rise of organised crime syndicates is synonymous with Italy, it’s only fitting that we’re getting a new crime epic that explores the world of the Mafia in Rome.

Based on the book of the same name by Carlo Bonini and Giancarlo de Cataldo (although set 10 years earlier) “Suburra: The Series” is Netflix’s first Italian Original.

Set over 20 days, the 10 episodes show how the church, the state, organised crime and local gangs fight to gain power of Rome.

Church. Politics. Crime. Three guys, hungry for money and power, fight to get their piece of the Italian capital.

If you’ve ever seen Gomorrah or Romanzo Criminale then you’ll know just hot faithful and detailed Italian TV shows are when it comes to depicting the life of the modern-day Mafia.

The explosive series arrives on 6th October and you can see the trailer below.
